French discovery Classes

At Alliance Française Amsterdam, we enhance children's natural ability to learn a language by providing a structured routine that is both dynamic and interactive.

According to their age and level, the children will participate and learn French through several entertaining activities: games, crafts, reading of fairytales, as well as speaking and writing activities.

We are happy to offer a trial class for your child so they can meet the teacher and their classmates before coming back every week! Please contact us at the email address below so it can be arranged. Please note trial classes will be offered if there is availability.

Our teachers are native, qualified and have a great deal of experience with children.

Registration is now possible per term, but beginners can only start in September. The course curriculum is designed for the whole year.

General courses 2024/2025 :

For complete beginners in french

7-10 years old : Children will discover French through an interactive approach.

The course is given with the support of a teaching book ZigZag (not included in the price).

On Thursdays, from 4pm to 5:30pm at OBA Oosterdok.

Term 1 (from 19/09 to 19/12) : 305€
Term 2 (from 09/01 to 17/04) : 329€
Term 3 (from 08/05 to 03/07) : 205€

Enrolment for the whole year at once (10% discount): 755€

An additional cost of 34€ is to be added for the book.

For Non-beginners in french

6-9 years old : For children who already speak a little French or have followed a previous course with Leila.

French playgroup on Wednesdays, from 2:45pm to 4pm at Lycée Vincent Van Gogh (Rustenburgerstraat 246):

Term 1 (from 11/09 to 11/12) : 255€
Term 2 (from 08/01 to 16/04) : 275€
Term 3 (from 07/05 to 25/06) : 169€
